Oh Hell Card Game Launcher

Bid exactly right, or lose it all.

Oh Hell is the trick-taking card game where getting MORE tricks than you predicted is just as bad as getting fewer. One card in the first round, two in the next, all the way up and back down again. Every hand is a fresh puzzle: count your winners, read the trump, and commit to a number you have to hit exactly.

Simple to learn in one round. Impossible to stop playing.

HOW IT WORKS

Each round deals a different number of cards to every player.

One card is flipped to set the trump suit.

Everyone bids how many tricks they think they'll win.

Play out the hand, follow suit if you can; the highest trump takes it.

Hit your bid exactly and score big. Miss by even one and you get nothing.

The catch: the last bidder can't make the bids add up to the number of tricks available. Someone is always going down.

WHY PLAYERS LOVE OH HELL

Most card games reward taking as many tricks as possible. Oh Hell rewards precision. Sometimes you need to win five. Sometimes your whole job is to dump a high card and win nothing at all. Deliberately losing a trick with the ace of trumps in your hand is a skill, and it never stops being satisfying.

It's the game that fills family tables, card nights and long trips, and it's known by a lot of names: Oh Hell, Oh Heck, Blackout, Nomination Whist, Contract Whist, Up and Down the River, Bust, Elevator, Diminishing Whist. If you grew up playing any of those, you already know this one.
