PayJar: Tips & Hours Tracker

Know what you made tonight. Not on payday.

After a double, nobody wants to do math. So the tips end up on a napkin and payday ends up a surprise. PayJar keeps every shift and every tip in one place, does the math, and tells you when your check comes up short.

MADE FOR TIPPED WORK

• Cash tips, card tips and your share of the tip pool on every shift

• Tip-out to the bar, bussers or kitchen, as an amount or a percentage of sales or tips

• Your real hourly rate: wages plus tips, minus tip-out

• Your state's minimum wage and tipped wage. If a slow week leaves you under the minimum, you see what your employer has to make up

• Best days, cash vs. card and a year-end summary

IS YOUR CHECK RIGHT?

Type in the gross on your paycheck. PayJar compares it with the hours you logged and says it straight: it matches, or "You were underpaid by $38.40." Wage Check is free.

OVERTIME, DONE RIGHT

• Weekly overtime after 40 hours, on from the start

• Daily overtime and double time for states that have them, like California

• An hour already paid as daily overtime isn't counted again for the week

• On a tipped wage, overtime is figured on the full minimum wage, not on $2.13

• Night, weekend and holiday differentials, if your job pays them

• Every shift shows how its pay was worked out

CLOCKING IN SHOULDN'T BE MORE WORK

• One tap to start or end a shift, with Undo in case you tap by mistake

• Forgot to clock in? Start the shift at the time you really walked in

• Breaks, manual or automatic (for example, 30 minutes after 6 hours)

• Quick shifts for the ones you work every week

• A close that runs past midnight counts for the day it started

• Weekly, biweekly, every 4 weeks, twice a month or monthly pay periods

YOUR DATA STAYS YOURS

• No account, no sign-up, no ads

• Your hours, pay, tips and notes stay on your iPhone, with backup to your own iCloud

• Excel and CSV export, always free

• Anonymous usage stats and crash reports help us fix what breaks. They never include amounts, job names or notes, and you can turn them off in Settings
